Students awarded for “best project”

For the 4th year in a row, AIS has won the “Témoignage”-award in Aust-Agder for the Forgotten Crisis project for Doctors Without Borders. Our project was chosen as the best project in Aust-Agder. The competition was tougher this year with more participants, but our contribution was one of the best we have entered so far. The winning project was created by Anne-Kristine, Vilde, Lamis and Karen Anna and dealt with the high mortality rate for pregnancies in Sierra Leone.

Project description

This project was designed to reach as many people as possible with its message. The group devised a plan that included writing a newspaper article; a video with a social media campaign; and direct contact with politicians to ask them to spread the message and act. The group contacted 11 newspapers and eventually published their article in Agderposten (see below). They also contacted people in social media with many followers, influencers, to spread the information and met with a member of Parliament, Svein Harberg (H). On their own initiative, they also started a fundraiser for Doctors Without Borders where they were able to raise more than 5000NOK.

As one of the finalists in the country, we will get the national results by the end of the term.
