Students in AIS originate from all over the world, and so do the parents
We are fortunate to have a resourceful group of parents who help us develop the learning environment and the entire AIS school community.
Getting to know other parents is a way of building a community of internationally minded people and life-long learners. The fact that you have your children in the same learning situation is a valuable arena for you to help each other being good parents. Every child will challenge their parents from time to time. It can be questions about sleeping time, computer games, screen time to name but a few. When parents in a class relate to this matters together, you can learn from each other and we as a school can better support you and assist you. It is when we as adults get involved in the community that we as a school are able to reach across and build a resourceful learning community. Parents are always welcome to visit school and we are delighted when we have parents as resource people for various types of inquiries, projects and discussions.
Every class elects a class contact and a deputy class contact. That parent is a member of the Parent Committee, but is also a focal point for the parents in the class and for a few activities to take place during term.
