Planned leave of absence from school
In AIS we say “Every day counts” and the ideal is that students are in school every day. However, should there be a need for time off from school, please take note of the following:
The Private School Act §3-13 states – When justifiable, the school may, upon receipt of an application, grant individual students leave of absence up to two weeks. Each application is subject to an individual decision in accordance with the Administration Act §2 and may be appealed to the Regional Governor.
This individual decision is conditional upon the parents/guardians ensuring necessary tuition during the period of leave, so that the student is able to keep pace with the ordinary teaching when the period of leave is over. Should the leave be more than two weeks, the student may be withdrawn from the school register.
Please use the form below to apply for leave of absence. The application must be submitted to the school at least two weeks prior to leaving. If parents are divorced, both e-mail addresses have to be registered.
The homeroom teacher can grant up to two days leave of absence. Such applications should be sent to the student’s homeroom teacher as early as possible.
