Please support IB students in Norway by signing this petition.
Samordna opptak, the public body responsible for administering university places, have comissioned a new conversion table for IB grades which significantly devalues Norwegian IB student`s grades. This new conversion table will be in effect from autumn 2025 and will severly impact the Norwegian IB students applying to Norwegian Universities and further education institutes. At the same time we see universities around the world going in the other direction.
Samordna opptak has used a external consultant to produce this table, and have not taken into consideration the complexity of the programme, or the students knowledge that they have at the end of the programme.
We believe that the new conversion table is directly detrimental for Norway as a knowledge-based nation, as it forces mange Norwegian IB students to study abroad. This, in turn, may have a direct consequence for Norwegian companies looking to recruit Internationally minded young graduates.
